မစၥတာ စမစ္ မရွိတုန္း ဟင္နရီက တာဝန္ယူ ႀကီးၾကပ္သည္။

-       Who is the in charge of  the arrangements for the dance next week?

ေနာက္တစ္ပတ္ ကပြဲအတြက္ အစီအစဥ္ေတြကို ဘယ္သူက တာဝန္ယူ ႀကီးၾကပ္မွာလဲ?

to have a good time : ေပ်ာ္ရႊင္သည္၊ ေပ်ာ္ရႊင္စြာျဖတ္သန္းသည္။

မေန႔ညက ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ အားလံုး ပါတီပြဲမွာ ေပ်ာ္ရႊင္ခဲ့ၾကတယ္။

မင္း ကပြဲမွာ ေပ်ာ္ခဲ့ရဲ႕လား?

to take care of: ဂ႐ုစိုက္သည္။

-       Who will take care of your dog while you are away on your vacation?

မင္း ပိတ္ရက္မွာ ခရီးသြားတဲ့အခါ မင္းရဲ႕ေခြးေလးကို ဘယ္သူက ဂ႐ုစိုက္မွာလဲ?

-       Our teacher always said to us, “Take care of yourself”

ဆရာက “ကိုယ့္ ကို ကိုယ္ ဂ႐ုစိုက္ၾက” လို႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ကို အၿမဲေျပာတယ္။

once a while: အခါအားေလ်ာ္စြာ

-       Previously I saw him very often but now he comes here only once in a while.

အရင္တုန္းကေတာ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ သူ႔ကို မၾကာခဏ ေတြ႔တယ္ ဒါေပမဲ့ ခုေတာ့ သူက အခါအားေလ်ာ္စြာ (တစ္ခါတစ္ေလ) ပဲ လာေတာ့တယ္။

-       Once a while he goes with us to the movies on Saturday night.

စေနေန႔ညေတြဆို အခါအားေလ်ာ္စြာ သူက ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔နဲ႔ ႐ုပ္ရွင္ လိုက္ၾကည့္တယ္။

quite a few : အမ်ားအျပား၊ အမ်ားႀကီး

-       Quite a few students were absent yesterday.

မေန႔က ေက်ာင္းသားေတြ အမ်ားႀကီး ေက်ာင္းပ်က္ၾကတယ္။

-       We did not expect many to attend quite a few people came to the meeting.

အစည္းအေဝးကို လူေတြ အမ်ားႀကီးလာဖို႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ သိပ္ မေမွ်ာ္လင့္ထားခဲ့ဘူး။

used to : လုပ္ေလ့ လုပ္ထ ရွိခဲ့သည္၊ ေလ့ရွိခဲ့သည္။ (ယခု အခ်ိန္တြင္ မလုပ္ေတာ့ပါ။)

-       I used to play football when I was young.

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ငယ္ငယ္တုန္းက ေဘာလံုး ကစားေလ့ရွိတယ္။

-       I used to buy my suits at President. Now I buy them at Uncle San.

-       အဝတ္အစားေတြကို President မွာ ဝယ္ေလ့ရွိတယ္၊ ခုေတာ့ Uncle San မွွာပဲ ဝယ္ေတာ့တယ္။

to be used to : ရင္းႏွီး ကၽြမ္းဝင္သည္၊ ( be+used+noun ပံုစံျဖင့္သံုးပါသည္)

-       I am not used to Taungyi’s weather.

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ေတာင္ႀကီး ရာသီဥတု နဲ႔ အကၽြမ္းတဝင္ မရွိဘူး။

-       He is used to Mathematic.

သူက သခ်ၤာ ဘာသာရပ္ကို အကၽြမ္းတဝင္ ရွိတယ္။

to get used to: ရင္ႏွီး ကၽြမ္းဝင္လာသည္။

-       You will soon get used to this climate and the changes in temperature do not affect him.

မၾကာခင္ပဲ သူ ဒီရာသီဥတုနဲ႔ အကၽြမ္းတဝင္ ျဖစ္လာပါလိမ့္မယ္၊ အပူခ်ိန္အေျပာင္းအလဲေတြက သူ႔ကို ဘာမျဖစ္ေလာက္ေတာ့ဘူး။

-       He can’t seem to get used to wearing glasses.

မ်က္မွန္တပ္ ရတာ သူ အကၽြမ္းတဝင္ ျဖစ္ပံု မရေသးဘူး။

to make believe : ဟန္ေဆာင္သည္။

-       George made believe that he was sick so that he would not have to go to school.

ေဂ်ာ့(ခ်္)က ေက်ာင္းမသြားရေအာင္လို႔ ေနမေကာင္း ဟန္ေဆာင္ ခဲ့တယ္။

-       Do you think that Mary was only making believe that she was tired?

ေမရီက ေမာတယ္ဆိုတာ ဟန္ေဆာင္ေနတာ သက္သက္လို႔ မင္းထင္လား?
