to be about to do something : တစ္ခုခု လုပ္ရန္ အဆင္သင့္ျဖစ္သည္။ တစ္ခုခု လုပ္ေတာ့မလို႔

-       I was just about to leave when you telephoned.

မင္းဖံုးဆက္ေတာ့ ငါ အျပင္သြားဖို႔ အဆင္သင့္ ျဖစ္ေနၿပီ။ သြားေတာ့မလို႔

-       We 're just about to eat dinner.

ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ ညေနစာ စားဖို႔ အဆင္သင့္ ျဖစ္ေနၿပီ။

to turn around : ျပန္လွည့္သည္၊ အေျခအေနတစ္ခု လံုးဝ ေျပာင္းလဲသည္။

-       The man turned his car around and drove back the way he came.

ကားကို ျပန္လွည့္ၿပီး ေနာက္ဘက္ကို ျပန္လွည့္ ေမာင္းလာခဲ့တယ္။

-       The company has been very successful since the new business manager was able to turn it around.

မန္ေနဂ်ာအသစ္က အေျခအေနေတြ ေျပာင္းလဲခဲ့ၿပီး ကတည္းက ကုမၸဏီ က ေအာင္ျမင္လာခဲ့တယ္။

to take turns (doing something) : တလွည့္စီ

-       During the trip, John and I took turns driving so that neither of us would tire out.

ခရီးစဥ္တေလွ်ာက္ ႏွစ္ေယာက္လံုး မပင္ပန္းေအာင္ ဂၽြန္နဲ႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ကားကုိ တလွည့္စီ ေမာင္းခဲ့ ၾကတယ္။

-       Mary and her sister take turns helping their mother each night.

ေမရီ နဲ႔ သူအစ္မ က သူတို႔ အေမကို ညတိုင္း တလွည့္စီ ျပဳစုၾကတယ္။

to pay attention (to) : အာ႐ံု စူးစိုက္သည္၊ အာ႐ံုထားသည္။

-       Please pay attention to me while I'm speaking to you!

မင္းကို ငါစကားေျပာေနတဲ့ အခ်ိန္မွာ အာ႐ံုစိုက္ထားပါ။

-       You'll have to pay more attention in class if you want to get a good grade.

အတန္းထဲမွာ အဆင့္ေကာင္းေကာင္း ရခ်င္ရင္ မင္းဒီထက္ ပိုၿပီး အာ႐ံုစိုက္ ရလိမ့္မယ္။

over and over : ခဏ ခဏ၊ ထပ္ခါ ထပ္ခါ

-       I have told him the same thing over and over.

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ သူ႔ကို ဒီကိစၥကိုပဲ ထပ္ခါ ထပ္ခါ ေျပာတယ္။

-       He seems to make the same mistake over and over again.

-       သူက ဒီအမွားကိုပဲ ခဏ ခဏ ထပ္မွား ေနတဲ့ပံုပဲ။

to wear out : ေဟာင္းႏြမ္း စုတ္ျပတ္သည္။ (အဝတ္အစား)

-       I must buy a new suit. This one is worn out.

ဒီဟာ က စုတ္ျပတ္ေနေတာ့ အဝတ္အစား အသစ္တစ္စံု ဝယ္ရမယ္။

-       What do you do with your clothes after you wear them out?         

မင္းအဝတ္အစားေတြ ေဟာင္းႏြမ္း စုတ္ျပတ္သြားရင္ မင္းဘာလုပ္ မွာလဲ?

to fall in love : ခ်စ္ကၽြမ္းဝင္သည္။

-       John and Mary fell in love in high school, and got married after graduation.

ဂၽြန္ နဲ႔ ေမရီက အထက္တန္းေက်ာင္းသား ဘဝက ခ်စ္ကၽြမ္းဝင္ခဲ့ၾကတာ ဘြဲ႔ရၿပီးေတာ့ လက္ထပ္လိုက္ ၾကတယ္။

-       Have you ever fallen in love at first sight? 

မင္း ျမင္ျမင္ခ်င္း ခ်စ္ဖူးလား?

out of the question : မျဖစ္ႏိုင္

-       Don't expect me to do that again. It's absolutely out of the question. 

ဒီကိစၥကို ထပ္လုပ္ဖို႔ ငါ့ဆီက ထပ္ၿပီး မေမွ်ာ္လင့္နဲ႔ေတာ့ ဒါလံုးဝကို မျဖစ္ႏိုင္ဘူး

to have to do with: ပတ္သက္သည္၊ ဆက္စပ္သည္။

-       What does your suggestion have to do with our problem?

ငါတို႔ ျပႆနာနဲ႔ မင္းအႀကံက ဘယ္လိုမ်ား ပတ္သက္ ဆက္စပ္ ေနလို႔လဲ?
